Luke Strand has announced
Lassi Lehti will join the Mavericks as a graduate transfer for the 2026-27 season.
Lehti, who played four seasons at Alaska, started in 25 of 26 games this year, logging 1,492 minutes while posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.51 goals against average. The Nanooks skated to a 13-9-1 record with Lehti in net as he led the team in all goaltending categories.
During his four-year stint in Fairbanks, Lehiti appeared in 51 games, while boasting a 23-13-5 record. The 6'4", 209-pound backstop owns a career .920 save percentage to compliment his 22.29 career goals against average.
"Lassi brings us experience with great numbers and success over his college career," said Strand. "We are excited to have a crease filled with talent and work ethic."
A native of Espo, Finland, Lehti spent two years in the NAHL with El Paso and Minot in 2021-22. During that time he went 14-18-3 with a 2.83 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
