Mavericks Set for Six-Game Week

MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota State Mavericks (30-9, 22-4 NSIC) are set for a busy six-game week, taking on Winona State, Gustavus Adolphus, and Northern State.

Minnesota State opens the week Wednesday with a doubleheader at Winona State (20-19, 15-11 NSIC) at Loughrey Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The Mavericks then return home Thursday to host Gustavus Adolphus College (12-14, 5-7 MIAC) at Bowyer Field, with first pitch set for 4:00 p.m.

The Mavericks wrap up the week with a three-game series at Northern State (11-20, 9-17 NSIC). Minnesota State will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Fossum Field, followed by a single game Sunday at noon.

Last Time Out

Minnesota State took two of three games from Minnesota Crookston last weekend.

The Mavericks opened the series with a 7–6 walk-off win, as Ethan Bowers delivered a two-run home run in the ninth inning. CJ Trask, Brandon Vlcko, and Pambos Nicoloudes also homered in the win, while Gannon Reidinger provided a solid start on the mound.

MSU dropped the second game 7–2, with Eric Nuno accounting for both runs on a two-run home run.

Minnesota State responded in the finale with a 4–2 victory. The Mavericks scored three runs in the first inning, while Daniel Zang struck out 10 over seven innings. Ben Irsfeld closed the door with two scoreless innings to earn the save.

Scouting Winona State

Winona State enters the week after sweeping Wayne State.

Sawyer Hoffman leads the Warriors pitching staff with a 4.73 ERA and a 3-2 record. Dylan Harer paces the offense with a .330 batting average, five home runs, and 24 RBIs.

Minnesota State leads the all-time series 48-15.

Scouting Gustavus Adolphus

Logan Feeney leads Gustavus on the mound with a 5.56 ERA, while Simon James leads the offense with a .297 batting average, three home runs, and 16 RBIs.

The Mavericks hold a 15-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Scouting Northern State

Northern State will face Minot State before hosting the Mavericks.

Hyunwoo Kim leads the Wolves with a 4.93 ERA, while Collin Lott leads the offense with a .320 batting average, five home runs, and 21 RBIs.
