MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's and women's track and field teams competed in UW-Platteville Invitational Friday.
At the UW-Platteville Invitational,
Amanda Overgaauw finished in 30th in the 5,000m event with a time of 17:20.09.
Sophie Baker followed in 32nd place with a time of 17:22.99, while
Ashley Overgaauw finished in 35th place with a time of 17:24.44.
Madison Matzek turned in a time of 17:27.36 to finish in 42nd place as well.
For the men at the UW-Platteville Invitational,
Jack Kendall led the way for the Mavericks as he finished 30th in the 5,000m event with a time of 14:28.62, the second fastest in team history for the last45 years.
Erek Ross took 50th place with a time of 14:38.87, while
Luis Pfister finished 92nd with a time of 14:52.60.
At the Bryan Clay Multls is Azusa, Calif.,
Miranda Lauvstad posted 5,671 points and finished fourth in group A of the Heptathlon setting a school record. Lauvstad finished fifth or better in three events, including the long jump where she finished first with a jump of 6.25m.
Alexa Post also competed in the heptathlon event at the Bryan Clay Multis, finishing in fifth place in group C. Post took second place in the shot put with a throw of 11.38m.
The Mavericks return to action on April 12-13 at the Minnesota State Open at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
