Lauvstad, Sebera Take in Top Regional Honors for Minnesota State

NEW ORLEANS – Minnesota State senior Miranda Lauvstad (Nesoeya, Norway) was named the NCAA Division II Central Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA on Monday. In addition, Minnesota State Associate Head Men's & Women's Track and Field Coach - Long/Triple Jump & Multi Events Brian Sebera was named Women's Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Lauvstad earned All-Region honors in four events for the Mavericks, including 60 meter hurdles, 200 meters, long jump and pentathlon. She won the national title in long jump at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, setting the second best mark in Division II history in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
 
With 18 total points scored, Lauvstad was the named the High Point Scorer a the national meet, for the Mavericks and was the third Maverick to win a national title in long jump. She also finished second in pentathlon, with wins in the pentathlon 800 and pentathlon long jump along the way.
 
At the NSIC Indoor Championships, Lauvstad won the 200 meters and long jump conference titles and finished third in 60 meter hurdles and fifth in high jump.
 
Sebera is in his seventh season as a member of the Minnesota State men's and women's track and field coaching staffs. He was elevated to Associate Head Coach on June 30, 2025. He has helped the Mavericks win multiple NSIC men's and women's team championships.
 
The women's team scored 32 points at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships to finish fifth in the nation, and Sebera was named the NSIC Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Sebera also was named NSIC Women's Assistant Coach of the year for the second year in a row.
