Sebera is entering his seventh season as a member of the Minnesota State men’s and women’s track and field coaching staffs. He was elevated to Associate Head Coach on June 30, 2025. He has helped the Mavericks win multiple NSIC men’s and women’s team championships during his tenure, to go along with eleven top-10 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, including a women’s indoor national championship in 2022. Sebera has coached several NSIC individual champions and more than 30 All-Americans, including Adeyah Brewster who recently won the long jump event at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships. The women’s team scored 35 points at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships and Sebera was named the NSIC Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year this past season.

Prior to Brian joining the Mavericks, he was the Associate Head Coach at the University of Sioux Falls from 2017-19, Assistant Track and Field Coach at the College of St. Benedict 2012-17 and Interim Head/ Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field coach at St. Cloud State University from 2005-12.
 
In his two years as the Associate Head coach with the Cougars, Sebera coached 15 national meet qualifiers, had 39 All-NSIC performers and 12 conference champions. Under his tutelage, USF individuals established school records in the men's and women's 60m, men's long jump and women's 4x100m.  He was a member of a coaching staff that produced a third-place finish at the 2018 NSIC indoor men's track & field meet (best finish in USF history) and sixth-place finish at the 2018 NSIC outdoor women's track & field meet (best finish in USF history).
 
Prior to assisting with the Cougars, Sebera was an assistant coach for four years at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota.  During his time at the College of St. Benedict, he helped coach four NCAA DIII All Americans, nine NCAA DIII National meet qualifiers, coached 25 All-MIAC Performances including 7 MIAC champions. Beyond the scope of his coaching duties, Sebera served as recruiting coordinator and increased the roster size of his sprints, jumps and hurdles group by more than 50 percent. Sebera coached student-athletes who broke seven school records – five individual and two relays – and sent nine student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Championships.
 
Before his tenure at College of St. Benedict's, Sebera spent seven years as a member of the St. Cloud State University Track & Field and Cross-Country coaching staff, including serving as interim head coach for a year. With the Huskies, he helped several student-athletes develop into some of the nation's best. He coached the NCAA Division II national champion in the women's pentathlon, runner-up in the women's triple jump, and a third-place finisher in the triple jump. Overall, he coached 36 student-athletes who made NCAA Division II Championship appearances with 21 earning All-American honors at the competition.
 
Sebera was a standout athlete at St. Cloud State before he entered the coaching ranks. While earning a bachelor’s degree from SCSU in Sport Management, he was a three-time All-North Central Conference selection. While a graduate assistant for the SCSU Track & Field program, Sebera obtained a Master of Science in Sport Administration. In December of 2016, Sebera earned his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs.
