MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State wrestling team picked up its 13th dual win of the season Friday evening as the Mavericks bested MSU Moorhead 40-10.

With the win, the Mavericks improve to 13-3 on the season, including a 6-1 NSIC record. With the loss, the Dragons fall to 4-7, including a 1-5 conference record.

The Mavericks won eight matches on the day, including four via fall, two via tech fall and two via decision.

Junior Chase Beckett (133 lbs.) scored the first fall of the day as he pinned Brody Toledo at 2:08. Junior Walker Bents (149 lbs.) pinned Parker Benz at 2:45, before senior Caleb Meunier (157 lbs.) recorded a fall over Jacob Thomas at 2:56 of their match. Senior Drake Hayward (174 lbs.) recorded a pin over Anthony Sykora at 3:58 also.

Sophomore Paolo Salminen (165 lbs.) and sophomore Evan Farley (184 lbs.) both notched tech falls in their respective matches. Salminen secured his 17-0 tech fall at 4:35 over Damon Ferguson as he notched one takedown, a reversal and three four-point nearfalls. Farley tallied six takedowns as he bested Edon Davis 18-3 at 6:08 in their match.

Sophomores Jacob Fitzpatrick (125 lbs.) and Colton Hush (141 lbs.) each won via decision as well. Trailing 6-4 with a minute to go, Fitzpatrick rallied with a two-point reversal at 6:23, before riding time gave him the 7-6 win over Clayson Mele. After falling behind 4-3 in the first round, Hush notched the lone takedown of the third period with 13 seconds to go as he came away with the 6-5 win over Pedro Velazquez.

Minnesota State wraps up its homestand on Saturday as it takes on the Northern State Wolves. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Taylor Center.
