CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- Minnesota State wrapped up the NWCA National Duals in ninth place as the Mavericks bested #9 Ashland 39-11 and #12 Grand Valley State 20-18.

MSU now owns a 9-3 record in dual action this season. The Mavericks will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 18, as they host the Minot State Beavers at 2:00 p.m. in Taylor Center.
 
Minnesota State vs. Ashland Recap

Minnesota State won seven of the 10 matches against Ashland to secure a 39-11 win, including five matches that were won via fall.

Junior Chase Becket (133 lbs.) pinned Donovan Paes at the 4:50 mark of their match, while sophomore Colton Hush (141 lbs.) scored a fall at 2:56 against Rylen Campbell. Senior Caleb Meunier (157 lbs.) added a fall over Fernando Lopez at 2:35, while senior Drake Hayward (174 lbs.) pinned Hayden Flynn at the 5:31 mark of their match. Junior Grant Cook (197 lbs.) defeated Christopher Price via fall at 1:22 also.

Sophomore Evan Farley (184 lbs.) added a 4-2 decision win over Fletcher Rose also, while junior Walker Bents (149 lbs.) won via forfeit.

Sophomore Paolo Salminen (165 lbs.) scored a fall over Caden Jacobs at 6:07, while Bents (149 lbs.) earned a 19-2 tech fall over Eran Marx at 6:49.

Beckett (133 lbs.), Hush (141 lbs.) and Hayward (174 lbs.) each scored decision victories as well. Beckett bested Jak Keller 4-1, while Hush defeated Josh Vazquez 8-2. Hayward notched a 7-0 win over Trammell Robinson as well.
