BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Several members of the Minnesota State women's golf team earned NSIC honors for their efforts during the 2024-25 season.
Sophomore
Victoria Woytassek was named to the All-NSIC First Team, while freshman
Emerson Garlie and junior
Samantha Youngquist were named to the All-NSIC Second Team. Garlie was also named the NSIC Newcomer of the Year. Head Coach
Alex Schmitz earned his second consecutive NSIC Coach of the Year award as well.
A sophomore from Jordan, Minn.,
Victoria Woytassek was named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team as she finished fifth in the individual standings with a +15 as she helped her team win the NSIC Championship. In total, she finished in the top-10 in five events this past season, including a first place finish at the NSIC Preview at the Paradise Point Golf Complex.
A freshman from Northfield, Minn.,
Emerson Garlie was named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team as she finished first at the NSIC Championships with a +2, while helping her team claim the NSIC Championship. He overall three-round score of 218 was the best in the history of the NSIC Championships. Garlie also led the Mavericks at the NCAA Central Region Championships as she finished in 18th place at +7. She is the four Maverick to be named the NSIC Newcomer of the Year.
A junior from Eden Prairie, Minn.,
Samantha Youngquist finished in the top-20 in five events during the season, including a pair of eighth place finishes at the Fall Brawl and the Mustang Invitational. At the NSIC Championships, Youngquist finished in 10th place with a +22.
Head Coach
Alex Schmitz garnered NSIC Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Mavericks to their second NSIC Championship in team history. As a team, the Mavericks finished in the top-four in seven events during the 2024-25 season. MSU would also advance on to the NCAA Central Regional where the Mavericks finished in 11th place.
