PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team finished the first two rounds of the NCAA Championships Wednesday.
A total of 18 teams are competing in a three-round tournament at the par-72 PGA National Resort. The top eight teams from the tournament will advance on to match play to compete for an NCAA Championship. The third round is scheduled for Thursday.
As a team, Minnesota State sits in 17th place with scores of 317-330—647 (+71). Dallas Baptist leads the team standing with scores of 300-287—587 (+11). UT Tyler is in eighth place with scores of 307-309—616 (+40). Wingate's Amely Bochaton leads the individual standings at 68-67—135 (-9).
Sophomore
Emerson Garlie shot a 73 and an 83 in the first two rounds and is in 49th place at +12. Garlie recorded four birdies in her opening round.
Junior
Victoria Woytassek shot a 79 and an 86 in her first two rounds and is now sitting at +21. Woytassek recorded a couple of birdies as well.
Senior
Samantha Youngquist and junior
Emma Berge each finished their first two rounds at +24. Youngquist posted four birdies through her first two rounds, while Berge notched two.
Senior
Ava Olson sits at +26 after two rounds. She has tallied four birdies also, including three in the second round.
