BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team has been picked to finish second in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

MSU received 157 points and three first-place votes to finish second in the poll. Wayne State topped the poll with 178 points and 11 first-place votes. Concordia-St. Paul ranked third in the poll with 143 points.

Last season, Minnesota State posted nine top-5 finishes as a team, including a pair of team wins at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl (+31) and the SMSU Fall Invite (+31). The Mavericks took second place at the NSIC Championships (+67), before finishing fourth at the NCAA Central Region Championships (+77). In their first trip to the NCAA Championships since 2010, the Mavericks finished in 17th place (+110)

Junior Emerson Garlie was named MSU's Golfer to Watch for the upcoming season. Last season, Garlie notched six finishes in the top-20, including five in the top-5. She finished first in both the Jewell Invitational (-1) and the Ever Spring Inn and Suites Mustang Invite (+7) as she garnered a pair of NSIC Golfer of the Week honors. She would go on to finish fifth at the NSIC Championships (+16) to earn NSIC All-Tournament Team and All-NSIC First Team honors. Garlie would later finish 20th at the NCAA Central Region Championships (+19) and 69th at the NCAA Championships (+24).

Senior Lauren Keller competed in nine events for the Mavericks last season also as she recorded four top-20 finishes. Keller took ninth place at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl (+9) and 11th at the USF Invitational (+17).

Minnesota State opens its 2026-27 season on Sept. 8-9 as it travels to Blue Springs, Mo., to compete in the Central Region Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
