Pitlick Signs With Bakersfield Condors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Minnesota State graduate forward Rhett Pitlick (Plymouth, Minnesota) signed an Amateur Tryout (ATO) with the Bakersfield Condors (AHL, Edmonton Oilers) on Tuesday. Pitlick is the seventh Maverick men's player to sign a professional contract this offseason.
 
Pitlick was the CCHA Forward of the Year in 2024-25. He produced a conference-best 30 points on 10 goals and 20 assists in 26 league contests, posting a +22 rating, with 68 shots and 12 blocks defensively.
 
Overall, he led the Mavericks with 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists) and held a plus-32 player rating. This included five game-winning goals and two overtime goals. Pitlick also posted three power play goals and generated 96 shots.
 
Helping the Mavericks to their 10th NCAA Regional appearance this spring as MSU's top-line left wing, Pitlick completed four seasons of collegiate hockey with 148 games, 48 goals, 71 assists and 119 points. Prior to college, he skated in 95 games in the USHL regular season with stints in Tri-City, Muskegon and Omaha. He also played high school hockey at Chaska.
 
Pitlick's cousin Tyler played for the Mavericks, then in the National Hockey League  with 420 games, 56 goals, 53 assists, 109 points. He is currently on the roster for the Providence Bruins. Pitlick's brother Rem currently plays for the San Jose Barracuda and has 54 points in 132 NHL games. Rhett Pitlick was selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens but did not sign and returned to college.
 
Pitlick joins Josh Groll (Fort Wayne Komets, ECHL) in the Edmonton Oilers organization. Other MSU players signing professional contracts after the season include Jordan Power (Greenville Swamp Rabbits, ECHL), Kaden Bohlsen (Calgary Wranglers, AHL) Brian Carrabes (Adirondack Thunder, ECHL), Will Hillman (Toledo Walleye, ECHL) and Zach Krajnik (Savannah Ghost Pirates, ECHL).
