MANKATO, Minn. --- A total of six Minnesota State men's student-athletes have been named to the CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team for their efforts this past season.
In total four Maverick men's hockey players (
Campbell Cichosz,
Evan Murr,
Alex Tracy,
Mason Wheeler) and two Maverick wrestlers (
Chase Beckett,
Colton Hush) were named to the Academic All-District Team.
To be eligible for the academic all-district team student-athletes must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically. They also must boast at least a 3.50 GPA. Hockey players must compete in 90% of the team's games or start in at least 66%. Goaltenders need to start in at least 50% of the team's games. Wrestlers must be in the lineup for at least 75% of team scoring events or compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
A senior defenseman from Albert Lea, Minn.,
Campbell Cichosz played in all 40 games for the Mavericks this past season as he tallied four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. He also finished the season at +6 and blocked 63 shots. Cichosz has been named to the CCHA All-Academic Team twice and a CCHA Scholar Athlete twice. He boasts a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in applied leadership.
A junior defenseman from Stillwater, Minn.,
Evan Murr competed in all 40 games for the Mavericks this past season as he recorded 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points as he led the team at +24. He was named to the All-CCH First Team and garnered CCHA Defensive Player of the Year honors, before being named to the CCM/AHCA All-American Second Team. Murr has been named to the CCHA All-Academic Team twice and a CCHA Scholar Athlete twice. He owns a 3.67 GPA and is majoring in management.
A senior goaltender from Chicago, Ill.,
Alex Tracy played and started in 39 games for the Mavericks as he put together a 21-11-7 record, to go along with a 1.80 goals against average and a .927 save%. He was named to the All-CCHA Second Team and was a six-time CCHA Goaltender of the Week. Along with being a semifinalist to the Mike Richter Award, Tracy boasted the second best goals against average in the NCAA. Tracy owns a 3.80 GPA and is majoring in finance.
A senior defenseman from Green Bay, Wis.,
Mason Wheeler competed in all 40 games for the Mavericks this past season. He notched one goal and eight assists for nine points, while finished second in the NCAA in blocked shots with 91. He also finished the season at +10. Wheeler has been named a CCHA Scholar Athlete twice and was named to the CCHA All-Academic Team twice. He boasts a 3.57 GPA and is majoring in finance.
A junior from Portage, Wis.,
Chase Beckett (133 lbs.) put together a 29-9 record during the 2025-26 season, which included six wins via fall and three via tech fall. At the Super Region V Championships, Beckett posted a 4-1 record as he advanced to the NCAA Championships with a second place finish. Beckett has been named to the NCAA All-Academic Team of Excellence twice and a NWCA Scholar All-American three times. He owns a 3.86 GPA and is majoring in construction management.
A sophomore from Woodville, Wis.,
Colton Hush (141 lbs.) finished his 2025-26 season with a 30-12 record that included eight wins via fall. At the Super Region V Championships, Hush posted a 4-1 record as he finished in third place to advance to the NCAA Championships. At the NCAA Championships, Hush put together a 6-1 record as he claimed All-American honors with a third place finish. Hush was also named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence and NWCA Scholar All-American. He owns a 3.83 GPA and is majoring in construction management.
