MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State (18-5-3) will travel to Fargo, North Dakota to play in the 2025 NCAA Division I Regional at Scheels Arena. The regional semifinals for the Mavericks are scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 4 p.m. CT vs. Western Michigan (30-7-1) on ESPNU. Minnesota (25-10-4) will also play UMass (20-13-5) in Fargo at 7:30 p.m. CT in the other semifinal matchup. MSU is a four-seed in the region, against top-seed Western Michigan (fourth in the nation). Winners will meet in the region finals on Saturday, March 29 on ESPNU.

Minnesota State is making its tenth appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament and holds a 5-9 record in NCAA postseason games. The Mavericks last played in 2022-23 in Fargo, N.D. as a three seed against the second seeded St. Cloud State Huskies.

The Mavericks have also appeared in Providence, Rhode Island (2003, 2019), Toledo, Ohio (2013), Worchester, Massachusetts (2014), South Bend, Indiana (2015), Sioux Falls, South Dakota (2018), Loveland, Colorado (2021) and Albany, New York (2022). With berths to the Frozen Four in 2021 and 2022, the program's best finish in Division I came in 2022. The Mavericks defeated the University of Minnesota 5-1 in the national semifinals before falling to Denver by the same score in the National Championship at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

This year's team is 27-8-3 overall and won their ninth MacNaughton Cup and third Mason Cup title.
