MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State junior
Evan Murr (Stillwater, Minn.) was named Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) National Co-Defenseman of the Month for November, announced on Thursday (Dec. 4).

The award follows Murr's recognition as CCHA Defenseman of the Month earlier this week. He earned the distinction from the HCA along with Chris Hedden (Sr., Air Force) and Eric Pohlkamp (Jr., Denver).

Murr led the nation in assists (8), points (11) and plus-minus (+12) by a defenseman in November, scoring three goals, including one game-winner. Averaging 22:41 minutes per game, he helped the No. 13 Mavericks to a 6-1-2 record, including a six-game winning streak to close out the month.

He had 25 shots on goal and blocked seven defensively. Highlighting his month were a pair of three-assist contests, leading Minnesota State to road victories over Lake Superior State and Northern Michigan.

With 66 career points in 90 career games, Murr rose to 18
th on the Minnesota State career scoring by a defenseman chart, tied with Ben Youds (2007-11).

Murr is the first Maverick player to earn an HCA National monthly award this season. Goaltender
Alex Tracy was recognized three times last year.

The Mavericks (10-2-4, 7-1-2 CCHA) have won six straight games and are home to host Ferris State on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:07 p.m. CT and Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6:07 p.m. CT.
