MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State wrestling travels to Golden, Colorado for competition in the John Hancock Duals on Saturday, Dec. 20. The No. 13 ranked Mavericks (2-1, 2-1 NSIC) begin against Belmont Abbey at noon, followed by Central Missouri at 1:30 p.m. and No. 25 Colorado School of Mines at 3 p.m.

Colorado School of Mines hosts the meet at Russell H. Volk Gymnasium.

The Mavericks are coming off a 22-20 home win over No. 4 Parkside on Friday.
Jacob Fitzpatrick won at 125 by tech fall 20-4 over Dylan Duvernay.
Walker Bents (149) and
Caleb Meunier (157) also collected wins via major decision.

Bents holds a 12-1 overall record this season.
Drake Hayward and
Caleb Meunier are 13-3 and Fitzpatrick is 14-4.

Belmont Abbey (3-1, 3-1 CC) competes in Conference Carolinas and reside in Belmont, North Carolina. The Crusaders split a pair of duals on Nov. 19, including a 28-27 win over Shorter and a 24-17 loss to Lander. The Crusaders were picked to finish sixth in the conference. Senior Caleb Moore was named conference wrestler of the week on Nov. 18. He was runner up at the Findlay Open at 197 pounds.

Central Missouri (3-1, 0-0 MIAA) finished seventh last season at the NCAA Division II wrestling championships in Indianapolis. In their last dual, the Mules fell 25-18 to McKendree (Nov. 8).

Redshirt senior Gage Bernall went 4-0 on the way to the 165-pound title at the Jim Koch Open in Kenosha, Wisconsin, recording two technical falls, a major decision, and a 10-4 win over No. 4 Brody Hemauer of UW-Parkside in the championship match. He was named MIAA Wrestler of the Week on Dec. 9.

Colorado School of Mines (4-0, 1-0 RMAC) stayed undefeated on Dec. 6 with a 37-6 win over Ouachita Baptist in Hays, Kansas. Last year, the Orediggers went 13-2 overall, including 7-0 in the RMAC and placed sixth at the NCAA Super Region VI Championship in Gunnison, Colorado. Cody Thompson was ranked No. 2 in Division II at 149 pounds prior to start the season.
