EDMOND, Okla. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team finished day one of the Skip Wagnon Invitational in 14th place.
MSU recorded scores of 293-285—578 (+18) through the first two rounds at the par-70 Kicking Bird Golf Club. St. Mary's (Texas) leads the team standings with a score of 269-264—533 (-27). St. Mary's Guillaume Paquette leads the individual standings with a score of 67-63--130 (-10).
Junior
Karson Patten paced the Mavericks on day one as he finished in 40th place with a scores of 76-67—143 (+3). Patten notched seven birdies through the first two rounds. Senior
Hogan Ordal notched scores of 76-71—147 (+7), including three birdies, to finish the day in 72nd place.
Freshman
Sam Swavely finished two shots back of Ordal with scores of 74-75—149 (+9) as he recorded six birdies, while sophomore
Michael Johnson tallied scores of 79-72—151 (+11) as well. Senior
Ryan Darling posted a score of 67 (+3) in the first round but did not compete in the second round.
