LILBURN, Ga. – The Minnesota State women's basketball team opens the 2025-26 season ranked No. 15 in the nation, according to the WBCA NCAA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Mavericks collected 185 total points in the rankings. A season ago, MSU entered the year ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll and finished the campaign unranked but still receiving votes.

Minnesota State is one of three NSIC programs featured in the top 25, joining No. 11 Concordia-St. Paul and No. 18 Southwest Minnesota State.

The Mavericks will host UW-La Crosse in an exhibition matchup on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. inside the Taylor Center before officially tipping off the season at the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic in Edinboro, Pa. MSU faces Edinboro on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. CT, California (Pa.) on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. CT, and Union (Tenn.) on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. CT.
