3/25/2026 12:02:00 PM

ATLANTA, Ga. Natalie Bremer of the Minnesota State women's basketball team has been named the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year, highlighting the Coaches' All-American Team.

The Lake City, Minnesota native turned in a career-best season, averaging 21.8 points per game on .486 shooting, .371 from three, and .884 from the line, while adding 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 steals and ranking sixth in the nation in scoring. A starter in all 32 games, the guard's greatest achievement this season came as she etched her name in program history, becoming Minnesota State's all-time leading scorer across both the men's and women's programs with 2,371 career points.

Bremer becomes the first national player of the year in program history. She was previously recognized as a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American during her junior season and now adds the top individual honor in Division II women's basketball to her resume. She also joins a distinguished group of Maverick All-Americans, including Elsie Ohm, Lisa Walters (three-time selection), Heather Johnson, and Joey Batt.

"Natalie has cemented herself as one of the very best in all of Division II Women's Basketball. She is a proven leader and performer who has left an indelible mark on our program," said head coach Emilee Thiesse.  "Natalie has fully embraced the values of Maverick Women's Basketball and her continued growth and development as a player reflect her outstanding work ethic and competitive drive. We are extremely proud of Natalie for this honor; she is truly deserving of this incredible recognition."

Bremer stands as the only individual representative from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on the Coaches' All-American Team, while Bergan Kinnebrew of the University of Mary earned honorable mention recognition.

The Mavericks finished the season with a 29–3 overall record, including a 21–1 mark in NSIC play. MSU also set a program record with a 27-game winning streak and, following an outstanding regular season, was crowned NSIC Regular Season Champion.
