KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin Parkside won eight of ten matches – five of which came with bonus points – en route to a 33-6 victory of Minnesota State Friday evening in the final regular season dual of the season for the Mavericks.
Minnesota State picked up its first win of the dual at 165 pounds when sophomore
Kole Marko earned a 4-1 sudden victory win. Marko and the Ranger's Brady Schuh traded escapes in the second and third period before Marko registered a takedown in overtime to secure the victory.
At 285-pounds, freshman
Tanner Gaffey also earned a 4-1 sudden victory in a match that mirrored Marko's.
Minnesota State finished the dual season with a 7-6 record and were 4-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Mavericks return to action March 2
nd when they travel to Minot, N.D., to participate in the NCAA Super Region V Championship.
