BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State sophomore golfer Samantha Youngquist was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Week following her wire-to-wire victory at the Maverick Invitational at the Faribault Golf Club earlier this week.
 
Youngquist, who earned the award for the first-time in her career, shot a 73-80—153, finishing nine over par.  Over the 36 holes of golf, Youngquist finished par or better on 25 holes, including recording three birdies.  Her opening round 73 was the second lowest round of the event.
 
As a team, Minnesota State won the event by 37 strokes and had five of the top six golfers.
 
Minnesota State returns to action Sept. 11-12 as it travels to the Tracy Lane Invitational hosted by Bemidji State at the Bemidji Town & Country Club.
