Pueblo, Colo. – Minnesota State saw one Maverick in Tanner Maier compete on the final day of the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Minnesota State finished the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships in 27th place with 11 points.

Maier finished eighth in the 800m dash with a time of 1:49:40 to secure All-American honors for the second year in a row. Maier adds his name to the list with seven Mavericks that have gained All-American status in teh 800m dash, including national champions Ted Nelson in 1960, Dale Bahr in 1992, and Denise Mokaya in 2010.
