Azusa, Calif. – The Mavericks finished their weekend trip to California at the Bryan Clay Invitational today.
Junior
Carson Dittel finished second in the pole vault with a vault of 5.20 m (17' ¾") - a personal best - and a vault that is second on the MSU all-time top performances list.

Onyekachi Ukaobasi also recorded a personal best in the triple jump, jumping for 15.28 m (51' 11") and moving to fourth on the MSU all-time list. His leap was the fourth best jump in the event.

In the long jump event, two Mavericks finished within the top 20. Sophomore
Slade Heald (7.04 m, 23' 1¼")and junior
James Gilbert (6.96 m, 22' 10") placed 16th and 20th respectively in the event.

Turning to the track, senior
Abel Christiansen finished within the top 30 for both the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, with times of 14.84 and 54.55 respectively.

In the 100m dash, sophomore
Ezekiel Clark ran a 10.73 to finish 28th. Placing 15th in the 200m dash was junior
Rashion Walker (23.17). Not far behind was senior
Kenry Atubel at 21.47, to finish 23rd.

The final event for the Mavericks was the 400m dash. Walker (48.29) and freshman
Qai Hussey (48.33) finished at 23rd and 26th in the event respectively.

The Mavericks compete close to home this coming week on Wednesday, April 19th in Minneapolis, Minn. at the M City Classic.
