Azusa, Calif., - On Thursday, the Mavericks started off a string of invitationals for the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Junior Tanner Maier was first to compete in the 800m dash. Finishing 26th with a time of 1:48.91, Maier currently ranks fourth in the nation and provisionally qualifies.
At the Mt. Sac Relays on Friday, freshman Qai Hussey, junior Rashion Walker, senior Kenry Atubel, and sophomore Junior Pontes Da Veiga took fifth in the 4x400m relay. Ranking fifth on the MSU all-time list with a time of 3:10.56, the group also ranks sixth nationally.
In the pole vault, junior Carson Dittel finished ninth with a vault of 5.00m (16'4 ¾") which was good for ninth.
The Mavericks continue competition today at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
