St. Joseph, Mo. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team shot a collective 330 (+42) Monday to open the nine-team Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Missouri Western.
The two-day long event is being held at the St. Joseph Country Club, a par-72 track that is playing to 5,836 yards.
Sophomore
Kelly Winter, playing as an individual, led the Mavericks with an eight-over 80 which is 17
th overall. Winter recorded 11 pars during her round. Freshman
Sammy Younquist shot a nine-over 81 behind ten pars.
Junior
Delaney Conrad turned in a 10-over 82 while senior
Sam Soulier recorded an 11-over 83. Senior
Madi McGinty finished with a 12-over 84, while junior
Anna Cihak finished with a 13-over 85.
Souiler and McGinty were the lone Mavericks to record a birdie during their rounds.
Missouri Western State leads the field with a 302, which was 14-over par and five shots ahead of Northwest Missouri State. Individually, MWSU's Florence Phan shot a one-over 73 to lead the pack.
The two-day long event concludes Tuesday.
