MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won a total of 15 events Saturday to defeat both Gustavus Adolphus and UW-Stevens Point.
The Mavericks defeated the Gusties by a score of 240-78 and the Pointers by a score of 257-60. GAC defeated UWSP 185-133. MSU now owns a 5-1 dual record.
"We're very happy with the team's overall performances today," head coach
Nathan Owens said. "We had a number of ladies hit their season PR's and move up in the conference event rankings. Our divers also had a standout meet with almost everyone posting 11 dive qualifying scores.
"Our mid-season rest meet is only two weeks away, so the team is excited to rest and peak in a few weeks. They've got a few more work days in training and then it's all downhill until Sioux Falls November 16. It should be fun!"

The Mavericks also set the standard in both diving events as junior
Sydney Hanson finished first in the 3-meter diving event with 256.3 points, while junior
Aspen Warnygora took first in the 1-meter diving event with 264.2 points. Hanson took second in the 1-meter diving event with 263.85 points, while Warnygora took second in the 3-meter diving event with 255.9 points.

Brianna Shroyer each won a pair of individual events. Gorecki won both the 200 backstroke (2:11.52) and the 400 IM (4:47.76), while Schultz won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke with times of 1:08.31 and 2:28.77, respectively. Shroyer posted the top finishes in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.81 and in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.66 also.
Hudoba added a first place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.29, while junior
Sienna Sirek-Kreye won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.09. Freshman
Ally Donagan won the 1,000 freestyle also with a time of 11:09.84.
Gronholz's time of 58.59 took first in the 100 backstroke, while freshman
Maddy Jagger finished first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:16.38.
Minnesota State continues its season on Thursday, November 16, as it takes part in the three-day Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D.
