After a road sweep at Ferris State last weekend, Minnesota State is back in Mankato to host longtime rival Bemidji State Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. The Mavericks are 2-2-0 at home and 68-64-21 all-time against the Beavers in games dating back to 1974-75. Last season, Bemidji State swept Minnesota State 4-3 and 4-1 in Mankato on February 17-18.

Sweeping the Bulldogs
- Minnesota State won 6-2, then 3-2 in overtime against Ferris State to begin CCHA play.
- Sam Morton led the team with three goals, three assists and six points on the weekend, including both regulation goals Saturday night.
- Lucas Sowder also contributed with three assists Friday and another Saturday.
- Freshman Evan Murr highlighted the series when he scored with 6.3 seconds remaining in overtime.

Scouting the BeaversÂ
- Bemidji State split a home series against Michigan Tech last week. First, the Beavers fell 4-2 at Sanford Center after the Huskies scored a pair of first period goals and held on Friday night. Then BSU came back from a four goal deficit to win 6-4 Saturday. The Beavers scored three goals in the final 4:27 of the second period to spark the largest from behind victory in Bemidji State's Division I era. Kyle Looft finished with three points, including two goals and an assist for his second career three-point night.
- Looft, a fifth-year senior earned CCHA Defenseman of the Week for the second time in his career Monday afternoon, leading BSU with a team-high five points off three goals and two assists. He was also a plus-2 skater with a pair of blocked shots on the weekend.
- Looft (116 points at Mankato West High School) has a career-high 12 points with five goals this fall. He leads CCHA defensemen in both categories and is tied for fifth-most points by a defenseman in Division I.
- Goaltender Gavin Enright has started eight of nine games and holds a 3.16 goals against average and .876 save percentage with a 3-4-0 record.
- Lleyton Roed has seven goals in 10 games for the Beavers, which ranks fourth best in the CCHA. Roed's three game-winning-goals rank first in the conference.
- Tom Serratore is in his 23rd season as head coach at Bemidji State. He is a seven-time conference Coach of the Year and the second-winningest coach in Beaver Hockey history. Since taking over in 2001, Serratore's teams have achieved six regular-season conference championships, three CHA tournament titles, five NCAA Tournament appearances and one NCAA Frozen Four appearance (2009). He is a seven-time conference Coach of the Year.
- Last season, Bemidji State finished 14-17-5 overall, 12-11-3 in CCHA play. The Beavers fell to Northern Michigan in the CCHA quarterfinal round in Marquette 7-3 and 2-1 OT.Â
