MANAKTO, Minn. --- The #24 Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team turned in a good showing Saturday afternoon as it took first place in all 16 events to defeat St. Catherine 193-78 at Highland Pool.
MSU now owns a 3-1 record in dual action this season.
"The team did really well today," head coach
Nathan Owens said. "We've been keeping our foot on the gas in training and been competing for a month straight, so everyone is a little beat up. That said, the ladies had a great effort today and raced hard in the pool.
"I thought that our diving squad was sharp and had their best performances so far this year. In the pool, we had a number of women achieve season best performances which is always good to see. We've got one more dual meet next week and then we're looking to peak and rest at our mid-season meet in a few weeks."
Junior
Sydney Hanson set the standard in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving. She began the day scoring 264.90 points in the 3-meter diving event, before recording 248.70 points in the 1-meter diving event.
The Mavericks also claimed first place in both the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay events. The quartet of junior

Olivia Hudoba took first in the 200 medley relay event with a time of 1:49.47, while the team of senior

Kaylee Sivertsen won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.60.
Hudoba would go on to win both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle events with times of 24.82 and 54.25, respectively. Senior
Roelle op de Haar took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.74, while sophomore
Sydney Miller finished first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.87. Junior
Sienna Sirek Kreye claimed first place in the 1,000 freestyle also with a time of 10:58.06.
In the backstroke events, Gronholz would take first in the 50 backstroke with a time of 27.02, while junior
Jaedyn Hill won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.35.
Shell would finish first in the 50 breaststroke event with a time of 30.78, while sophomore
Megan Schultz would win the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.20.
Freshman
Maddy Jaggers turned in a time of 1:01.68 to win the 100 butterfly event, while Mishmash posted a time of 27.32 in the 50 butterfly. Shroyer would take first place in the 100 IM also, with a time of 1:01.21.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday, November 4, as it takes on both Gustavus Adolphus and UW-Stevens Point in a double dual at 1:00 p.m. Minnesota State will host the diving events at Highland Poll, while Gustavus hosts the swimming events in St. Peter, Minn.
