MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team hosted the Deb Schulz Open Friday in their final regular season meet ahead of the NSIC Championships.
In the 100m dash, Minnesota State took the top three spots in the event with Ezekiel Clark winning the event with a meet record time of 10.49. With this mark, Clark is tied for 36th in division II.
Nick Durnin finished third in the 110m hurdles event with a provisional mark of 14.38. Durnin holds the 24th spot in the country.
The Mavericks finished first and second in the 200m dash with Carter Nesvold winning the event with a time of 21.30.
Drew Lewison and Jeremiah Revere finished second and third with times of 54.66 and 55.93, respectively.
In the 800m run Maquanet Collins was victorious with a time of 1:55.30.
Ben Schmied won the 1500m run with a mark of 3:52.59.
The Minnesota State 4x100 team made up of Daniel Attoh, Prince Nti, Nicholas Sharma, and Shaheed Hickman won the event with a meet record time of 41.30. The team currently holds the 21st spot in division II.
The Mavericks Josh Phelps, Kenry Atubel, Max DePrenger, and Carter Nesvold won the 4x400m relay with a meet record time of 3:14.50.
Carter Aguilera won the discus throw event with a heave of 176' 9'' (53.87m). Aguilera is fifth in the nation in the event.
Nicholas Hudson finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 173' 3'' (52.81m).
The Mavericks finished first and second in the high jump with Deveyonn Brown winning with a facility record performance of 6' 1'' (2.11m).
Kevin Wu finished second in the javelin throw with a toss of 194' 9'' (59.36m) and holds the 27th spot in the nation.
Caleb Kath and Slade Heald took home the top two spots in the long jump NCAA provisional marks. Kath won with a new meet and facility record of 25' 4' (7.72m) and Heald second with a provisional mark of 23' 10.75'' (7.28m). Kath is fourth in division II with this effort.
In the pole vault the Mavericks took the top three podium positions with Carson Dittel winning the event with a height of 16' 1.75'' (4.92m). Dittel is 14th in the country.
The shot put saw Minnesota State finish first through third with Steven Orzolek finishing first with a NCAA provisional mark of 54' 10.25" (16.72m).
Onyi Ukaobasi won the triple jump and improved his NCAA positioning with a leap of 48' 9'' (14.86m). He is now tied for 25th in division II.
Minnesota State returns to action Thursday as they begin day one of the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Aberdeen, S.D.
