MANKATO, Minn --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team finished their final day of competition at the Drake Relays Saturday afternoon on the campus of Drake University. The Mavericks also competed at the Drake Alternative hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
At the Drake Relays, in the distance medley, the Mavericks team that consisted of Ray Ure, Josh Phelps, Ben Schmied, and Tanner Maier finished fourth in the event with a time of 10:09.71.
The Mavericks 4x100m relay team finished third in the event with a time of 40.96. The team is made up of Caleb Kath,Prince Nti, Nicholas Sharma, and Shaheed Hickman hold the 17th spot in the country.
In the discus throw, Carter Aguilera finished 10th with a throw of 164' (49.98m). Aguilera is in the 27th spot in the country.
Onyi Ukaobasi placed ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 49' 5.75'' (15.08m). He currently ranks 12th in division II with this performance.
At the Drake Alternative, Jacob Ziebarth finished third in the high jump with a height of 6' 4.75'' (1.95m).
Quinn Walker finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 50.85.
In the pole vault, Thomas Lindsey won the event with a height of 16' 0.75'' (4.90m). Lindsey ranks 24th in the country.
Tyler Makela finished fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.41. Makela also finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.91.
Jeremiah Revere finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.49.
Minnesota State returns to action on Wednesday as they host the Maverick Open at the MSU Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
