ST. PAUL, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team traveled to the University of Concordia-St. Paul to take part in the Holst Invite Saturday afternoon.
In the 100m dash, Shaheed Hickman was victorious with a NCAA provisional mark of 10.53 which is tied for 32nd in the country. Nicholas Sharma finished fifth with a time of 10.63.
Two Mavericks finished one two in the 110m hurdles as Abel Christiansen took home the win with a NCAA provisional mark of 14.14 which is good for 11th in the country. Nick Durnin finished second in the event with a provisional mark of 14.33.
Kenry Atubel finished first in the 200m dash with a time of 21.35. Carter Nesvold finished third with a time of 21.59.
Jeremiah Revere finished seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.85. Ben Schmied finished in the top spot in the 800m run with a time of 1:53.97.
In the 3000m steeplechase, two Mavericks finished in the top five with Ray Ure finishing second with a time of 9:35.60 and Carter Owen finishing third with a time of 9:59.81.
Jacob Bennett and Niko Schmanski finished first and second in the 5000m run with times of 16:11.62 and 16:21.47, respectively.
In the 4x400m relay, the team that consisted of Schmied, Ure, Owen, and Caden Speikers finished fifth with a time of 3:32.91.
In the discus throw, Carter Aguilera finished fourth with a toss of 157' 11'' (48.14m). Nicholas Hudson finished fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 173' 11'' (53.01m).
Jacob Ziebarth and Deveyonn Brown tied for third in the high jump with a height of 6' 4.75'' (1.95m).
In the pole vault, MSU took home the top two spots with Thomas Lindsey winning the event with a height of 15' 3'' (4.65m) and Alex Berg finishing second with the same height.
In the shot put, Steven Orzolek won the event with a provisional mark of 54' 9.5'' (16.70m) and Tommy Kucera finished third with a mark of 52' 6.75'' (16.02m).
In the triple jump, Stephen Ayobamidele finished fourth with a leap of 44' 4.25'' (13.52m).
The Mavericks return to action on Thursday as they begin day one of the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
