WAYNE, Neb. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team sent its throwers to compete in the Wildcat Outdoor Classic this weekend in Wayne, Neb.
In the shot put, sophomore Tommy Kucera finished fifth with a toss of 51' 1'' (15.57m) and senior Bedale Naba finished sixth with a distance of 49' 7.25'' (15.12m).
In the discus throw, sophomore Carter Aguilera finished third with a heave of 162' 2'' (49.44m) and Naba earned another sixth-place finish with a toss of 157' 10'' (48.11m).
Aguilera followed up his discus performance with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 168' 3'' (51.28m). Kucera went on to finish eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 151' 8'' (46.23m).
In the javelin, senior Kevin Wu took home the top spot in the event with a throw of 187' 10'' (57.25m) just shy of a NCAA provisional mark of 58.38.
The Mavericks return to action as they compete in the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney, Neb., on Saturday April 2.
