MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's tennis coach
Ryan Kucera has announced that
Ally Roeth will join the tennis team in the fall of 2022.
All signings and transfers are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
DeMarce joins
Katelyn Daravingas,
McKenna DeMarce,
Georgia Deml,
JeanMarie Lorentz and
Makiah Otto in the 2022-23 recruiting class.
A native of West Des Moines Iowa, Roeth has competed with the girls tennis team at Waukee High School. As a freshman she competed in the No. 6 singles matches and the No. 3 doubles matches. She would help her team claim the state championship in 2019.
"We are very excited to welcome Ally Roeth into the Mav Fam," Kucera said. "She is a very strong player who hits the ball well from both sides, has a great serve and an equally great desire to improve. Both her on court qualities and her positive attitude will be great additions to our program! I look forward to her development and contributions here as a student-athlete."
As a junior, Roeth competed in the No. 1 singles matches and the No. 2 doubles matches. She finished runner up in district and was a state tournament qualifier. Ally is the daughter of Ryan and Kathryn Roeth. Her father Ryan competed at in tennis at Central College and Rake.
Minnesota State opens its spring schedule on Friday, Feb. 4, as it takes on Northwestern College (Iowa) in St. Peter, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
