Four Mavericks Garner All-NSIC Honors

BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Multiple members of the Minnesota State women's tennis team have received All-NSIC honors for their efforts on the court this past season.

A freshman from Kimberly, Wis., Julia Gurholt put together an 8-4 No. 1 singles record this past season, including a 6-3 NSIC record. She won three of her final four singles matches, including a 6-2, 6-2 win over USF's Chole Siegfort in the second round of the NSIC Tournament.  In doubles matches, Gurholt put together a 7-5 No. 1 doubles record with her teammate McKenna DeMarc. The duo went 5-4 in NSIC action and defeated their opponents Chloe Siegfort and Sofiya Janos 6-4 from USF in the second round of the NSIC Tournament.

A senior from Las Vega, Nevada, McKenna DeMarce went 8-6 in singles matches, including an 8-4 record in No. 2 singles matches. In NSIC singles matches, DeMarce put together a 6-4 record. DeMarce posted a 9-6 record in No. 1 doubles matches, including a 6-3 win with her teammate Alma Vazquez Rioja, over Augustana's Maria Fiacan and Fernanda Sandoval in the finals of the NSIC Tournament.

A junior from Queretaro, Mexico, Alma Vazquez Rioja went 10-3 in singles action this past season, including a 5-1 record in No. 3 singles matches and a 5-2 in No. 4 singles matches. She also posted a 7-3 record in conference matches. In the second round of the NSIC Tournament, she bested USF's Sydney Osburn 6-3, 6-4. She also recorded a 9-5 doubles record, including a 6-4 record with her teammate Lucie Sliskova in No. 2 doubles matches.

A freshman from Prachatice, Czechia, Lucie Sliskova went 9-5 in No. 2 doubles matches this past season, including a 7-4 record in NSIC matches. Sliskova and her teammate Amanda Blanco-Epple bested USF's Sydney Osburn and Ella Hancock 6-2 in the No. 2 doubles match during the NSIC Tournament.

Minnesota State finished its season with an 11-4 record as it advanced to the finals of the NSIC Tournament.
