ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team wrapped up the Gustavus September Invite Sunday.

"I saw noticeable progress across our team in their performance since last week's Augustana Invite," Head Coach Drew Hawthorne said. "Our doubles play is getting stronger and we're getting more consistent from baseline in our singles matches.

"The last two weeks of competition haven't been easy, but I'm really proud of the Mavericks for their start to the season. We're in a good place and all of these matches played in our invites are going to make us stronger for the spring."

Three Mavericks would go on to win singles draw championships including Lucie Sliskova, Amanda Blanco-Epple and Kenza Gonzalez Sajid.

In total, the Mavericks won 16 singles matches during the event and seven doubles matches.

Minnesota State continues its fall schedule on Oct. 2 as it takes on St. Catherine in a scrimmage in St. Paul, Minn.
