Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Men's Track and Field program traveled to Brookings, S.D. to compete in the SDSU Division II invitational. The Mavericks finished second with a score of 72.
In the 200-meter dash freshman Eddie Blackwell finished fourth with a time of 22.28 seconds.
The 60-meter dash saw the Mavericks take the fourth and fifth place finish with freshman Daniel Attoh claiming the fourth spot with a time of 7.02 seconds
Then, in the 60-meter hurdles the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with junior Justus Adams earning the victory with a time of 8.25 seconds.
In the high jump senior Deveyonn Brown earned a second-place finish with a height of 2.1-meters (6'10.75") which surpasses the NCAA Division II provisional mark. The triple jump saw freshman Onyi Ukaobasi finish third with a score of 14.04-meters (46'0.75'').
In the field events, junior Steven Orzolek finished fourth in the shot put with a throw distance of 15.91-meters (52'8.5''). Then, in the weight throw junior Nicholas Hudson placed third with a throw of 19.5-meters (63'11.75") surpassing the NCAA Division II provisional mark.
The Mavericks return to action Jan. 28 and 29 as they host the Mark Schuck Open and Multi at Myers Field House in Mankato, Minn.
