Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field program claimed victory in the Minnesota State Invitational scoring 291.50 points.
In the meet the Mavericks had a first-place finisher in 11 of the 16 events scored.
In the 60 Meter Hurdles, the Mavericks claimed all six spots with Kornelius Klah finishing first with a time of 7.99 seconds.
In the 200 Meter Dash, the Mavericks claimed the top three spots with Shaheed Hickman finishing first with a time of 22.10 seconds. In the 400 Meter Dash, the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with Drew Lewison finishing first with a time of 52.46.
In the 800 Meter Run, Tanner Maier finished first with a time of 1:53.79. In the Mile Run, the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with Ben Schmied finishing first with a time of 4:22.33.
In the 4x400 Meter Relay, Minnesota State's relay teams claimed the top three spots with times of (3:28.28, 3:29.52, 3:29.93).
For the field events, in the pole vault the Mavericks claimed the top 4 spots with Alex Berg finishing first with a top clear of 4.70m (15'5"). In the long jump, Caleb Kath finished first with a jump of 7.23m (23'8.75"). In the triple jump, Onyekachi Ukaobasi finished first with a jump of 14.74m (48'5.5").
In the shot put, the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with Steven Orzolek finishing first with a throw of 16.66m (54'8"). In the weight throw, the Mavericks claimed the top three spots with Carter Aguilera finishing first with a throw of 17.87m (58'7.5").
The Mavericks return to action Friday, January 21st at South Dakota State University, in the SDSU DII Invite.
