Mankato, Minn. ---  11th-rated Minnesota State won seven of ten matches in overpowering the University of Mary by a 26-10 margin in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling action in Mankato Thursday night.

Senior Trenton McManus, rated ninth in the nation at 125, upped his record on the year to 5-0 to start the match with an 11-1 major decision win over Jeremy Leintz.  Brock Luthens now stands 3-2 for 2020-21 after picking up a 5-2 decision over Laken Boese and Minnesota State junior Kolbe O'Brien pinned Drew Steidler at 4:59 and now owns a 4-1 record for the season.

Two-time All-American Kyle Rathman, rated second in country, stayed undefeated for the year with a 9-1 major decision over Chandler Mooney in the match at 149.  Junior Cooper Siebrecht prevailed by a 6-2 margin over Sam Bruss in the 157 matchup to make it 20-0 Minnesota State lead. Third-rated Trevor Turriff decisioned Max Bruss 7-5 at 174 and Dylan Butts claimed a 4-0 victory over Matt Kaylor at 184 in building the Maverick lead to 26-3.  The visiting Marauders claimed wins in the last two matches to close out the dual.

The victory gives the Mavericks a 4-1 overall record on the year and a 4-1 NSIC mark. Next action for Minnesota State is Feb. 11 when the Mavericks close out the regular season with a home dual vs. UW-Parkside.
