GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team split a pair of duals Sunday in Grand Forks, N.D., as it was swept by Bemidji State 7-0, before sweeping Minnesota Crookston 7-0.
MSU now owns an overall and NSIC record of 1-3.
The Mavericks began the day with a 7-0 loss to Bemidji State. The Beavers began the dual winning all three of the doubles matches by the score of 6-2 to claim the first point of the dual.
BSU would then go on to win all six of the singles matches in straight sets to secure the 7-0 win. Maggie Richardson defeated freshman
Sarah Johansen 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match, while Shaelyn Johnson bested freshman
Dee Dokken 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles match.
Minnesota State finished its day with a 7-0 sweep on Minnesota Crookston.

Lauren Goth won the No. 1 doubles match by the score of 6-1, while the pairing of sophomore
Kjerstin Hall and Dokken won the No. 2 doubles match by the score of 6-2. Johansen and freshman
Abigail Clayton won the No. 3 doubles match by the score of 6-0 also.
Washa won the No. 1 singles match by the scores of 6-3, 6-1, while Dokken tallied a 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 2 singles match. Hall won the No. 3 singles match by the scores of 6-2, 6-1, while Goth notched a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 4 singles match. Clayton prevailed in the No. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-1, while Johansen took the No. 6 singles match by the scores of 6-1, 6-0.
Minnesota State returns to action on the road next weekend as it takes on Sioux Falls on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., and Augustana on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
