ST. PAUL, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won a total of five events during the two-day St. Thomas Invite.
Minnesota State finished second in the overall team score with 675 points, while St. Cloud State finished first with 681 points. St. Thomas posted 593 points.
On day one, senior
Kate Flynn won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.45, while senior
Anja Enervold won the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.31. Sophomore
Ella DeFever followed Enervold in second place with a time of 59.53. Senior
Emily Goodman turned in a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.26.
On day two the Mavericks won three individual events. Junior
Darah Coleman won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.90. Enervold won her second event of the invite as she posted a time of 2:07.23 in the 200 backstroke, while Goodman won the 200 breaststroke event with a time of 2:27.18 as well.
Also on day two the Maverick 200 medley relay team of Enervold, Goodman, senor
Kayla Rinderknecht and Flynn took second place with a time of 1:49.06. Junior
Nicole Beckman also took second place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:16.48.
Freshman
Sydney Hanson posted the top finish for the Mavericks in both of the diving events. In the 3-meter diving event she finished fifth with a score of 220.05 and in the 1-meter diving event she took seventh with a score of 371.35.
Minnesota State continues its season on Thursday as it takes part in the three-day Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D.
