Sioux Falls, S.D. --- #9 Minnesota State won for the eighth consecutive time in posting a 20-10 victory at Augustana Friday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual in Sioux Falls.
The victory, in which Minnesota State won seven of ten matches, brings the Mavericks' record to 8-1 on the season and gives them a 6-0 mark in NSIC contests.
The host Vikings won two of the first three matches in the dual in jumping out to a 7-3 lead, with Travis Turniff (184) getting the lone victory at the beginning of the event for the Mavericks.
Minnesota State then responded with five straight victories with Max Villnow (285) gaining a decision, Andrew McFall getting a sudden victory, and #1-rated George Farmah (133), Louie Sanders (141) and #7 Kyle Rathman all claiming decisions in building a ten-point cushion before the Vikings staunched the bleeding. Logan Saltou (165) closed out the win with a decision in running his record to 13-6 in the dual finale.
Next action for Minnesota State is Feb. 9 and 10, with a pair of conference road duals at #1 St. Cloud State and MSU-Moorhead slated.
