Mankato, Minn. --- Nathan Smith, a Minnesota State men's hockey commit, was selected today by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2018 National Hockey League Draft.
Smith, a Hudson, Fla., native, was selected in the third round, 91st overall.
Smith, who had 17 goals and 30 assists for 47 points in 51 games played in his first season with Cedar Rapids of the United States Hockey League in 2017-18, is a native of Hudson, Fla. The 6-0, 180-lb., forward is a product of the Tampa (Fla.) Scorpions midget AAA program and was a two-time International Silver Stick midget AAA all-star (2015-16 and 2016-17). Smith tallied 41-45--86 in 15 games at Mitchell High School (Fla.) in 2016-17.
