Minnesota State Recently: Rated third this week by USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey after posting 8-2 and 6-2 home wins over the University of Alaska last Friday and Saturday in the first round of the WCHA play-offs, the Mavericks won 19 of their last 22 games. Minnesota State, which hasn't lost a game since a 5-0 loss at Alaska Jan. 12, are riding a nation's best 13-game unbeaten streak.
About the Minnesota State-Michigan Tech Series: Minnesota State swept Michigan Tech (3-1, 5-3) in a pair of games played in Mankato Oct. 27-28. Minnesota State leads the all-time series between the two schools 37-20-8. The two teams have met once in WCHA postseason play - in the semi-final round last year when Tech handed Minnesota State a 2-1 best-of-three series defeat in Houghton.
