Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State got a pair of goals each from forwards Dallas Gerads and Parker Tuomie in earning a 4-3 victory over #8 Boston University Friday in Mankato.

The 11th-rated Mavericks trailed twice in the game before scoring the last two goals in the contest in earning their third straight win over the Terriers.

Minnesota State was the first to get on the board when junior forward Parker Tuomie beat BU netminder Jake Oettinger with a shot low on the stick side at 11:56 of the first period. The Terriers had an answer with four seconds left in the first period when defenseman Dante Fabbro beat Maverick freshman Dryden McKay with a shot from the point. 

The back and forth continued in the second period when the Terriers took a 2-1 lead off of a goal from forward Patrick Curry. The Mavericks responded at 9:53 when junior defenseman Edwin Hookenson's shot from the blue line deflected off of sophomore forward Dallas Gerads mid-flight into the net, evening the score at 2-2. The Terriers converted on their first power play opportunity of the night as Bobo Carpenter scored two minutes later in making it a  3-2 BU lead. The Mavericks tied it up again when Toumie scored a highlight-reel goal, taking a pass in the slot from Marc Michaelis before backhanding a shot into an open net.

Gerads netted his second goal of the game, with what proved to be the eventual game winner, at 10:16 of the final period after stealing the puck from Oettinger from behind the net prior to tucking it in for the wrap-around goal.

 McKay, who was making his first career start, ended the night with 21 saves on the way to the win.

Mavericks (1-0-0) and the Terriers (0-1-0) will be back in action tomorrow night at 7:07 p.m., at Verizon Center.
