St. Cloud, Minn. --- Minnesota State lost its first dual of the season to #4 St. Cloud State, 20-12 on Saturday night. The Mavericks won four out of ten matches against the Huskies.
 
Minnesota State (4-1, 4-1 NSIC) got the lead early with a 3-2 decision win from Da'Wayne Robertson (Jr., 125 lbs.).  After a loss at the 133 weight class, Alphonso Vruno (Jr., 141 lbs.) regained the lead with an 8-4 decision win.
 
#4 St. Cloud State (11-2, 2-0 NSIC) took back the lead with a decision win at the 149 weight class and kept the lead the rest of the dual.  #2 Clint Porter (SCSU) beat Adam Cooling (So., 157 lbs.) and #5 Gabe Fogarty (SCSU) defeated #4 Cody Quinn (Sr., 165 lbs.) by decisions to increase the Huskies lead to 13-6.

Max Bullock (So., 174 lbs.) took #8 Clayton Jennissen (SCSU) into overtime but surrendered a takedown to lose 5-3.  Corey Abernathy (Fr., 184 lbs.) kept his momentum going with another dual win.  This time around, Abernathy defeated Dylon Braun (SCSU), 4-1.

Scott VanDeLoo (Jr., 197 lbs.) suffered his first loss to a Division II wrestler on the season by a major decision.  Malcolm Allen (Jr., 285 lbs.) ended the dual with a 5-2 decision win to stop his losing streak.

MSU gets back on the mat when they visit #17 Augustana on Thursday.  Dual time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
