Box Score Bismarck, N.D. – The Minnesota State volleyball team swept the University of Mary Marauders in straight sets by the scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-13.
With the win, the Mavericks record improves to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
In set one, the Mavericks were holding on to a 16-14 advantage over the Marauders before MSU finished the set on a 9-3 run. The Mavericks won the first set 25-17 over the Marauders. Sophomore middle blocker

In set two it was all Mavericks, as they were able to build an early 7-1 lead over the Marauders. MSU continued to extend its lead as big as 17 points in the set before the Mavericks went on to win

Jenna McNallan led the way as each one pitched in with four kills. Anderson posted another three kills as junior setter
Ellie Van De Steeg added 14 assists to her stat sheet.
In the third and final set of the match, it was the Mavericks taking control early as they built a 11-6 lead over the Marauders. MSU never looked back in the set as it went on to win the set and match, 25-13. Honebrink accumulated another four kills as Hassing, Anderson and Van De Steeg each posted two kills in the set.
Overall, it was a full team effort by the Mavericks as six players had at least four kills in the match while the team posted a .325 attack percentage on 83 attempts and 12 total service aces. Anderson led the way with eight kills, two service aces and two blocks. Honebrink recorded seven kills, three service aces, three blocks and eight digs as Hassing added another seven kills and two blocks to her stat sheet on the night. Sydney Powell each tallied six kills while Van De Steeg had 32 assists, four kills, and five digs.
The Mavericks will return to the court on Friday, at Taylor Center, as they will play host to Minnesota Crookston. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
