Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team will begin its first conference road trip of the year this coming weekend. The Mavericks will be traveling to Upper Iowa on Friday, before they set their sights on Winona State on Saturday. Tip-offs are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
From Last Week: The Mavericks stand at 5-2 overall and 2-0 in NSIC play after notching a couple of wins over conference foes in Augustana on Friday by the score of 92-80 and #2 Wayne State on Saturday by the score of 72-65.,

Scouting the Peacocks: Upper Iowa enters the contest with a 3-4 overall record and a 1-2 NSIC record. The Peacocks are coached by Carol Russell who is in her fifth season at the helm. This matchup will mark the 15th meeting between the two schools in program history, as MSU owns a 14-0 overall record against UIU.
As a team, Upper Iowa is averaging 70.6 points a game, while its opponents are averaging 80.4 points a clip. The Peacocks are shooting 41% from the field, as UIU is averaging 5.4 three-pointers a game. UIU has accumulated 130 total turnovers as its opponents have totaled 91 total turnovers for the year. The Peacocks are averaging a NSIC low -5.6 turnover margin.
Four Upper Iowa players are averaging double-digits in points on the year. Two of the four, senior guard Lindsey Carroll and senior center Olivia Winker, find themselves in the top-ten of the NSIC in points per game. Carroll is ninth in the NSIC, as she is averaging 14.3 points, to go along with 4.7 rebounds a game and is shooting an impressive 52% from beyond the arc. Winkler is tenth in the NSIC with 13.6 points a game, while shooting a team-high 64% from the field.,
Rounding out the four are senior forward Lauren Buck and junior guard Aleesha Cleaver. Buck is averaging 11.9 points a game and is second in the NSIC with 9.7 rebounds a game, while Cleaver is averaging 10.2 points a game.

Scouting the Warriors: Winona State comes into the week with a 6-1 overall record and a 2-1 record in NSIC play. The Warriors are coached by Scott Ballard who is currently in his 11th season on the job. Saturday's matchup will mark the 49th ,time the two teams have played each other, as the Mavericks own a 34-14 all-time record over the Warriors.

The Warriors rank third in the NSIC in scoring offense (79.1), scoring defense (56.0) and scoring margin (+23.1). WSU also ranks first in the conference in field goal and three-point percentage, shooting 49% and 42%, respectively. The Warriors also find themselves ranked third in the conference in turnover margin with +4.71 and second in the NSIC in assist/turnover ration with 1.30.
On the year, WSU is led by a pair of sophomores in center Kayla Timmerman and guard Tara Roelofs. Timmerman is averaging team-highs with 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds a game, while Roelofs is second on the team with 10.9 points a clip and leads the team with 3.1 assists a game. Junior guards Alexis Foley and Connor Nagle are averaging just shy of double-digits a game, as they are averaging 9.7 and 9.0 points game, respectively.
NSIC South Division Player of the Week Honors: After an impressive weekend from senior forward
Lexie Ulfers, the Waseca, Minn. native earned NSIC South Division Player of the Week honors. In Friday's win against Augustana, Ulfers posted her first double-double of her career, as she posted 15 points and 10 rebounds. The next night in the Mavericks win over #2 Wayne State, the senior topped her numbers with 20 points and 11 rebounds, marking her second consecutive double-double.

Ashley Olson achieved career-highs against Augustana, as she posted all 17 of her points in the second half to go along with her eight rebounds. Sophomore guard
Sammie Delzotto also posted her first career double-double this past weekend in Saturday's win over #2 Wayne State. The Eagan, Minn. native recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds in the upset win, while junior center
McKenzie Hoelmenn also tallied a career-high with seven rebounds.

Ashley Olson is currently sitting sixth in the NSIC in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 41%.
