The Mavericks, who had not lost to UAA in the last eight meetings between the two schools, owned a 28-10 advantage in shots on goal in the game. Minnesota State was one-for-three in power plays on the night, while the Seawolves were scoreless in two man-advantage situations.
The loss drops Minnesota State to 12-8-0 overall and 10-4-0 WCHA, while UAA ups its record to 10-9-2, 6-7-2 WCHA. The two teams wrap up the two-game league series Saturday with a 7:07 p.m. AST face-off scheduled.
