Mankato, Minn. -- A crucial pin by Sean Derry over
Derek Hahn at 197-lb broke a 12-12 tie that sparked Augustana to a 18-15 win in NSIC dual action.
MSU came out strong at 125-lb as sophomore
David Demo used a three point near fall en route to a defeat of No. 6 Cody Lensing via an 8-5 decision.
Augustana then ripped off four consective decision wins highlighted by a triple overtime thriller between
Tel Todd and No. 3 Marcus Edgington. Edgington eventually came away with the 3-1 decision.
Trailing 12-3, MSU went on to win three consective matches via riding time advantage.
After traililng 1-0 entering the third period, freshman
Cody Quinn used an escape and riding time to come away with a 2-1 win leaving MSU trailing 12-6 entering the 174-lb bout between
Brendan Eichmann and Bradyn Neises. Eichmann eventaully came out victorious in a 6-5 decision.
Brandon Pederson then defeated Jayd Docken 6-5, leaving the dual tied at 12-12 entering the 197-lb bout.
Sean Derry pinned senior Hahn at 4:02, giving Augustana the 18-12 lead entering the heavyweight match. In that match, sophomore Nate Haynes defeated Brian Schultz in a 1-0 decision.
