Fayette, Iowa -- Minnesota State opened the conference dual portion of their schedule with a 24-12 loss at the hands of Upper Iowa. MSU won four matches, but two Peacock pins proved to be too much.
After opening the dual with consecutive losses, including a pin at 133-lb, MSU answered back with back-to-back wins at 141-lb and 149-lb. Junior 141-lb
Robby Fisher defeated Duane Richardson by decision 6-1. Junior 149-lb
Jesse Westphal defeated Jordan Rinken in a highly competitive 4-1 decision.
Following senior 157-lb
Tel Todd's first dual defeat of the season, freshman
Cody Quinn answered with a 5-1 decision win over Blake Sorenson.
Upper Iowa won the next three matches, including their second fall of the night. Sophomore HWT Nate Haynes defeated Luke Stika 3-2 to close out the night.
MSU will host No. 4 Augustana Saturday, January 28 at 7 p.m.
