New Orleans, La. ---  Minnesota State men's track and field coach Mark Schuck has been named the Central Region Coach of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

This past spring, Schuck oversaw a Maverick squad which won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championship by 43 points. He has also coached senior 800-meter runner Denise Mokaya and sophomore pole vaulter Dan Novak, who will participate this weekend at the NCAA Division II Championships in Charlotte, N.C.

Schuck is in his 30th season with the Mavericks.
